Really Ready

It was just over ten months ago that your Mother’s stood poised to charge headlong into a new realm of brewing, announcing the release of our Ready Hard Seltzer. And it was not long after that that we took a step back from the precipice. Our crew in the brewhouse had put in the research, time, and work to learn the new processes and techniques to produce a light, bright, crisp, and refreshing hard seltzer. We brewed, sampled, evaluated, and rebrewed Ready seltzer until we felt we had cracked the code. We were ready.

Mother’s was ready to party. Then reality interceded; our seltzer was simply not holding up on the shelves. Off flavors and aroma were developing over time. We found we couldn’t vouch for the quality of the liquid. No one should feel like they’re rolling the dice when picking up a Mother’s six-pack. So we made the only responsible decision, we recalled the product from the market. After all, what good are standards if you don’t hold yourself to them? But this cloud had a silver lining: we took our lumps but learned a hell of a lot about how to rock a ridiculously drinkable and satisfying craft seltzer. 


This brings us to the present. We are stoked to announce that after several trips back to the drawing board, we’ve got the goods. We’re talking about a hard seltzer that drinks like a dream: dry but with subtle, natural fruit sweetness. So clean and crisp that you can’t wait to wrap your hand around the next can. 

So what did we learn in reinventing our seltzer? First and foremost, we’ve recognized that you simply can’t beat real fruit juice. In both our Blackberry Lemon and Cherry Limeade flavors, the use of real fruit concentrates amplifies the flavor and aroma. We’re letting these natural juices provide a subtle sweetness that simply can’t be replicated with other sweeteners. The acidity of the lemon and lime juice contributes to the overall refreshment of Ready Hard Seltzer. The fermented cane sugar brew that serves as the base liquid provides a clean, low-calorie canvas for the natural fruit juices to shine. All together, we’re talking about a hard seltzer that is so light and quenching, it’s bound to become your go-to when it’s time to get down.
